A smattering of my mornings news reading absent any political or economic data
*Men’s sperms counts, worldwide, have decreased by around 50% in the last decade
*Alcoholism has increased by about 50% in the last decade
*Since 1999, the number of opioid related overdoses has quadrupled and more people die this way now than gun homicides and car crashes combined. Over 560,000 people have died of opioid OD’s since 1999. Today over 21,000,000 in the US are addicted to opioids, of which only 10% are in treatment for the addiction.
*The use of antidepressants has skyrocketed, the use of antidepressants increased by 400% between 1988 and 2008. One in ten people over 12 years of age now relies on antidepressants for their depression.
*Sea level rise is now exponential, not linear: Florida tourism has decreased 40% in the last decade as Miami is now eternally partially flooded and will eventually be underwater.
*Whole populations of species around the world have stopped reproducing and many are now disappearing. (Bees, Flamingos, Frogs, all Amphibians are now endangered, et al).
Is there a pattern hear?, Bueller, Bueller…..
